Waukegan Webcam temporarily offline.

We've had a number of reports wondering why the Waukegan webcam is not available and if the birds are ok. Not to worry, everything is fine. Birds are present and a new nest box installed (photo is from 2015 and you can see the box needed some cleaning!)

The webcam should only be offline for another 2-3 weeks. It'll be back online in plenty of time for courtship and the first egg being laid. Thanks for your patience!

Nest Relocation

Many Waukegan webcam followers were disappointed the falcons abandoned their nest box this year. We believe construction work near the box caused the Peregrines to choose a more secluded spot to lay their egg(s).

The important thing is that the Peregrines did successfully fledge one young falcon. The downside is we didn't have the fun of watching all the activity. Hopefully in 2017 the adults will again use their nest box, especially since temporary disturbance is over.
