Well, we are at the end of this year's peregrine season and the web cam will be switched off this week. Here are a couple of what will be the last pics for 2017 that I was lucky enough to grab this afternoon.
We give huge thanks to RBI for providing the webcam and to Nicholas Booth & associates, for setting up YouTube, operating the cam and complying with our numerous requests to change shot etc!!!
Also a huge thank you to all the volunteers on the ground, without you, the survival of these beautiful falcons could, at times, be in the balance. You were all amazing!
We look forward to another successful breeding season in 2018.

Spotted PF on the nestbox while walking through the cemetery this evening so I quickly checked the camera once home and zoomed in. How grown up does he look! You can still see some juvenile feathers on some of the shots but I'd say he's almost there... Wow!

Look who's sitting on the nest box at the moment?
Not long before I found him on the cctv I saw his Dad landing on the perch right around the corner, so I guess it's still happy families for now...

Totally out of the blue, Charlie went into the next box this morning and ate one of the eggs! It looks like it was egg #3 and that there was a dead chick in it (though it's hard to say how advanced it might have been)<---Klik

Today, with the help of Industrial Abseiling Ltd, we went and removed the eggs from the nest box, and the bit of egg shell remaining from the egg Charlie ate. Tom and Charlie gave us a bit of a show beforehand with Tom bringing food for C, but she was full and not interested. Much chatting
Weather was pretty good for it, i.e. not wind or rain, though views over London were not too clear. Process went smoothly and the eggs and remains will make their way to PBMS for analysis. Brief test on the 2 remaining eggs showed they were infertile, only liquid inside. The inside of the other egg looked a bit weird but it's been out in mud and rain for a while so it is hard to say.
David, thanks so much for your help!
On other news, PF may have finally left, I haven't had a confirmed sighting in about 2 weeks (but I was also away for most of last week). At about the same time T&C started perching side by side and do courtship displays. Tom has also been in the box scraping a few times.
