First post for some time, not much happening here & work commitments have prevented weekly updates. Photo is young female high on the Cathedral this afternoon, this is the same peregrine as shown below in late May, and she’s been around the Cathedral more recently but hadn't been seen for a few weeks.
As you may have noticed the live cameras have been showing a white image during the past few days - this is not a fault with the cameras or system in the spire which is still recording. The web server is hosted by Worcester City Council & following a security issue this has been taken off the network which unfortunately includes our camera feed! We're currently about to look into other hosting options so the cameras may be off line for some time. Nothing has been missed so far as it's some months since we had a peregrine on any of the perches, to our knowledge the young female has stayed around the cathedral. We will check the recordings weekly & post any sightings & photos on here until the hosting issue is resolved.
Kestrels; same again with the white screen, the works at the church have been completed & the camera equipment can now be re-installed but the same hosting issue remains.
Bobbin; Again no news as to her fate following the Clee Hill poisoning incident.
We aim to progress the installation of a new Peregrine nest box higher on the spire located on the middle windows with new cameras. The old boxes are on the tower top which is not ideal as it's rather low & surrounded by the parapet wall which prevents the peregrines having a clear view of any potential predators & other birds looking to challenge the territory. Hopefully this can be installed this year before December.

The camera's are still showing old images as we are still working on a new host to provide a server facility for uploading. We have no broadband connection or line in the spire so this will have to be via our wireless link. Nothing missed to date as no activity on the perches. The young second year female is still on the cathedral most days.

The older female's back... Spotted her on the church some three miles out of town this morning, this is the third year she's over wintered here, no leg rings. Good to see her back but she was responsible for driving off the young cathedral pair last year before leaving herself!. Only the second year female around the cathedral at the moment...
