11th January 2014. One day after the peregrine falcon nest box at Norwich Cathedral had been cleaned, checked and modified, the tiercel cautiously returns to inspect the new layout while his mate does several fly-bys. The Hawk and Owl Trust have installed a new front ledge which should be less slippery when the chicks exercise their wings in preparation for fledging. A small 'light shield' ledge has also been fitted which should stop the top camera from being blinded by the floodlight that illuminate the spire at night. So, all is ready for the start of the new breeding season just a few weeks away.
