I think she figured out where to stash leftovers to have them un-thaw. The southeastern ledge where she has been stashing them gets sun first thing in the morning, and would be the warmest spot on the entire building. Not sure if they are THAT smart, but I wouldn't put it past her to have figured it out at her age...

We learned today that Mystic was found down by someone, over the time frame of last Thursday to this Monday morning, and she is at a rehab facility. As of this posting, her condition is yet to be determined.
Ohio Division of Wildlife officials have determined that there are no chicks in the nest box.
There were two unhatched eggs in the scrape, and one bleached out, possibly last years unhatched egg, laying off to the lip of the box.
There is an un-banded, adult female, present downtown. She is already utilizing downtown as her own, and Maurice is also present and accounted for. They are in courtship mode.
This story will evolve as there is much more information that will come with time as the parties involved communicate.
We will keep everyone in the know as much as possible. Two of us did get to photograph and see today's findings and an photo album will come later, as we get it worked on.

Memorable Mystic (6-1-18): Very sorry to have to report that we heard from Laurie from ODNR/DOW that Mystic died last night. She apparently showed some abnormal symptoms while in the care of the Wildlife Center and was taken to the vet for evaluation where it was learned that she had some health issues within her reproductive system. Mystic has been an iconic figure as the strong residential female at the Canton nest site since 2010, where she was hugely successful rearing young with two different mates (Maverick and then Mo) during her reign at that site. She hatched out at the Hilliard Road Bridge site in 2008 along with three siblings and was raised by her parents, Hillary and Titan, ending up down/grounded once post-fledge-- we were able to retrieve her and get her back up onto the bridge to rejoin her family and she successfully dispersed from the site in a timely manner. So many fond memories of Mystic for Chad and I, both as a hatchling when we were able to hold her and name her at her banding when she was 3-weeks old, as a young fledgling at Hilliard interacting with her parents and siblings, and then as an adult raising her own multiple steady broods in Canton. There’s a new female there bonding with Mo, which is positive for the future of that nest site, yet as with all peregrines with a memorable history Mystic will always be seen as irreplaceable by us and all who watched, followed, and got to "know" her! RIP, Mystic.
