Diversen Eagle cams campics 2012/2013

Project Lucy update:

Yesterday on my way home, I noticed Lucy once again on the ground in a field. After a bit of observation another eagle came in a landed beside her. I could tell she was calling out to it. The other eagle walked toward her. She didn't move much if any. Not long after, the other eagle flew away and Lucy stayed put. After discussion with Scott at the NEC about what to do, I asked the landowner for permission to walk out and see if I could get close enough to capture Lucy. I walked several hundred yards into the field and got within 120 yds or so her. Lucy did what I figured she would do ... she flew away. I found her again, perched in the oak trees where we see her often. So, Lucy is still a flying eagle! I did not have a camera with me, but I wish I had some pictures to show her flying away.

Thanks for your continued patience. Since Lucy is still flying, we just have to wait for her to come in on the bait. There is no sense wearing her out chasing her around all day. If she is indeed struggling with an injury, she needs all her energy to survive. The weather continues to be cold (in the 20's) with the wind chill expected to pick up tomorrow. Still hoping that eventually she will find the food we've offered pretty appealing.
