Two chicks hatched yesterday - two more today during the night and early morning respectively!

01.06.2022 A first kestrel chick has fought its way through the shell into life this morning with mama's help its way through the shell into life.

01.06.2022 In the meantime two young falcons have made their way out of the shell. However, one probably did not have it quite so easy. It took several hours until the hole was big enough. In the meantime daddy hawk is very successful in bringing food. He asks the mummy formally not to forget that feeding, nevertheless. (see right in the video).

Since this morning clearly a fourth chick in the EUREF nest, Berlin- Schöneberg. In the afternoon the fifth chick hatched.
It remains the sixth egg to hatch soon......

       

06.06.2022 Family Falcon......is complete!
During the night the last of six kestrel youngsters hatched.
Let's hope that it can prevail against its up to five days older siblings in the distribution of food.
In any case, the supply works wonderfully...

Corbusierhaus-Berlin: Bravo, a 6th chick has hatched on 6th June.
The little one will have a hard time, but maybe it will turn out well...

there was a jostling on the ledge today at noon.
Quax sat on the support of an assembly ladder for almost four hours
until he dared to fly back again. Nothing happened...

Corbusierhaus-Berlin kestrels: Accident

During the failed attempt of a landing a young falcon has torn the number five from the ledge this evening. Since the second youngest surely needs a few more days to fly accident-free, I briefly went to the roof to have a look. Number five was sitting on the roof surface looking at me with big help-seeking eyes. However, he had no desire to be caught by me. (Quite fast on foot too)! After a few minutes, I was able to grab him and put him back into the nest box....
